In two short days we will begin our most adventurous international adventure yet!...Driving to our destination; unlike our past two stints of living abroad which provided us with an aerial view upon arrival to our new destination and very little trip planning. This journey will take three days of driving: day one hauling-ass southwest away from the border; day two and three along the Pacific coastline of mainland Mexico, in the shadows of the Sierra Madre Mountains. We had originally planned to make the drive in two extremely long days, but shortening the drive time into three days seemed safer and more enjoyable (especially after discovering Captain Moe's Bed & Breakfast in Mazatlan; how could anyone resist a stay with these folks?).
Our maps are ready and we have a stash of pesos ready for paying bribes. Feel free to make your own bets about how much money we will spend on 'mordidas'; funny enough this word also translates to bite. I hope not to get bit too often on our drive down.
