Salt Lake City is one of my favorite places in the world.  It would be the first place I would consider; if moving back to the States.  The mountains are stunning, the food choices incredible, the nightlife is hip and happening [that's right, but don't tell anyone; it is a well kept secret].  However, it is a particular group of people, whom I adore, that keep me coming back!

Each spring, we scavenge the house for socks & closed toed shoes; dust the tropical dew off our jackets and head north, to the City of Salt [hipsters, ski bums and the mecca of mormonism].

From the moment we arrived, we were engulfed by our incredible community; morning coffee, backyard bonfires, soup nite, dinners on the porch.  Our days and nights were filled with the exchange of stories; present and past.

I've done some pondering, as of late, on the act of friendship and how to make wise decisions about the friends I choose.  Each time I arrive to a decision or definition, it always includes the qualities encompassed by many of our Salt Lake City friends [as well as a handful of other amigos around the globe].  Dependable.  Giving.  Honest.  Those who inspire me to be a better person; to do good in the world.

Thank you SLC for embracing me and sending me back home feeling super loved and recharged with positive energy! Along with a belly full of delicious vegan food and Strongbow.

Absolutely wonderful to spend a whole week in your company. It recharged me, too! Thanks, Jen and Sam, for making the trip, taking the time, and being exactly who you are. Nobody like you two...
