Awaiting discovery or happily ignored?
That's up for interpretation.

Rugged & raw.  Simple with an uncanny charm...Welcome to the tiny island of Nusa Penida.
The strong seas and swell of the Badung Strait make for a hairy pass to the island.
A very limited tourist infrastructure detour the majority of vacationers.

We were delighted to stumble upon this gem.

The fluorescent coral reef at Crystal Bay is sublime & exuding with life.  The cool water made it difficult to stay submerged for as long as I would have liked.  The sun faded into crimson yellows; washing-away my disappointment of having to come up for air, as I retreated to the comfort of the warm sand.

5 minutes from the boat drop, 40 minutes from Crystal Bay, Across the street from Octopus Dive Shop.

Getting Around the Island
Ring Sameton Inn can arrange scooters or a driver.
We used a driver named Camron whose full time job is working for the government in conservation projects around the island.  His knowledge of the island {and stumbling upon this favorite travel experience}  was worth every rupiah.  Crystal Cove & Broken Beach $500, 000 rupiah.
