I will be hiking into the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains starting at 6:30 tomorrow morning. It will be the start of a three day pilgrimage to the Virgin of Talpa de Allende.
I have the prayers and wishes of a few friends and family members to deliver to the virgin; along with my own prayers, tucked away in my backpack. And of course, it would not be a backpacking trip unless I brought a flask....appropriately filled with some fancy tequila for this particular trip. I figured I might need a little nip before sleeping out amongst the scorpions (and narcos).
