"Each moment is all we need, not more."
~Mother Teresa
Last weekend we celebrated Sam's birthday; another revolution around the fiery sun. We had some lovely airbnb guests staying in our house, whom agreed to watch Sage. We loaded the car, surf boards, backpack and Sancho and headed south. Back to the 'Q-Spot'.
We arrived by 'panga' about 10:00 a.m.; dumped our bags on the beach, set Sancho free to run like a demon along the beach and jumped in the water for some surf. As I paddled out, my hands were met by large clumps of spaghetti-like resistance. What the f is this? I pulled into the line-up to see some local boys throwing gummy worm-like objects at each other. I looked down and was surrounded by transparent globs of goo. My legs rested on my board, out of the water while waiting for waves. The locals laughed and reassured me I was fine. I wasn't getting stung but was seriously freaked out. After about an hour I could no longer hang with the mysterious sea goop and got out. As I arrived to shore and looked back towards the ocean, I spotted our friends sailboat. Shortly after a second sailboat appeared; everyone had arrived.
More surf, good vibes & great food. Grateful for these moments.
Here's to now!
